Default Adjustments of the Job Persuasion! (06/17/2010)



No level cap increase is complete without an accompanying arsenal of new job abilities, traits, and magic spells. Come the June version update, adventurers will find themselves empowered with myriad new ways to smite enemies and support comrades in battle. As the icing on this scrumptious cake of additions, performance-enhancing tweaks are also being whipped up for certain existing job abilities.

Got to love how the Devs' only hint and say that BLU will get new spells. At least the .Dat miners found out what they are, but uncertain how good a certain Magic Pot move will benefit. I hope a self refresh, but other BLUs think it's more of a mini-convert. -_-;;

It's a bit "meh" to me from a RDM perspective. I get some "okay" spells on RDM that I've already learned on WHM or BLM but nothing new (single target Protect V, I guess). Cure VI and Divine Benison will be nice for WHM, though.

Well, some neat stuff on blm too, now that it's 75, Prr.

Looking around, looks like several other RDMs are of the same opinion, but I think the next update is going to up the game for the job a lot. If anything, I think it points to the adaptability and power of the job that they didn't see the need to give another JA. Still, I'm sure you'll see some good stuff and some major changes down the line, Prr.

Now, imagine having a Bard and a Corsair in your party while camping an NM that spawns in a huge roaming area(like Lamina)... I wonder if it'll be close to Flee type of speeds? Andele! Ariba!

Like Prr said, RDM is a whole lot of whatever. We don't get any special abilities, one spell that WHM already has, one spell that WHM gets before we do, and one spell that I honestly can't imagine using very often. O and we get up to water VI which is kinda neat I guess. All in all I hope that we do get something very nice in the next update because that will be when other jobs get access to refresh. We have to find some other way to keep from being considered "Redundant"

You should see the BLU forums. They are having a @#$%-storm/complaining that by not having a native dual wield, we are stuck with /NIN, /DNC, and possibly /SAM if we super save our MP so we don't get too much hate until our skillchains finish off the monster. I know the theme for BLU is that we don't have any native trait: we have to set spell combos for them. But only a DW1!? WTF? To use 5+ set points if making it stack to DW2~3 would have us sacrificing ACC Bonus, Auto Refresh, and possibly space for the Big 3 and Vertical Cleave. Many were hoping to give the Finger to /NIN and use /SCH and /RDM instead to not only have self Refresh, but be better at our Magical spells as well. In case you didn't know, our magical nuking spells rather suck. But Meh. At least DNC can full-time /THF or /SAM now.
